Schools and education groups at Parc Howard Museum

Children seated in a museum learning space take part in an educational workshop about the Second World War. A presenter stands at the front of the room beside a large display screen showing wartime propaganda posters, including “Dig for Victory”.

Parc Howard Museum aims to inspire our next inventors using stories from the creators and entrepreneurs who have built and rebuilt Llanelli over the last 200 years. The Museum is full of hands-on, interactive exhibits designed to encourage play, discovery, and learning.

We aim to make every visit to the Museum special. Whether you're looking to run a self-led experience, or if you'd like to take advantage of our facilitated workshops, we offer plenty of ways to engage with the inventions and reinventions of Llanelli. And don't forget, sign up your school or education group to our membership scheme to access even more ways to get the most out of your visit, including unlimited loan boxes and a goody bag from our gift shop!

Access and additional learning needs

Parc Howard Museum has a step free entrance and route from the main road. The Museum exhibition galleries are step free, but located over two floors.

A lift is available on site, but please be aware that the historic doorway to the lift lobby is too narrow for larger wheelchairs.

A gender neutral accessible toilet is located on the ground floor.

Quiet spaces and rest areas can be made available during your visit and pointed out by a member of staff on arrival. Noise levels in galleries can be adjusted depending on the visitors needs.

Please see our Accessibility at the Museum page for more information.

Safeguarding

Please email info@cofgar.wales to request a copy of the CofGâr Safeguarding Children and Adults at Risk Procedures.

Preview visits

School staff and education group leaders are welcome to make a preview visit in preparation for their visit. This can be done at any time.

Preview visits can be self-led or you are welcome to ask for assistance from a member of the CofGâr team. Please let us know in advance by phone or email if you wish to arrange assistance for your preview visit.

Preview visits are useful for site familiarisation, carrying out risk assessments, logistics planning and making sure exhibits match their learning goals. For these reasons, they are recommended, but they are not mandatory.
