"...this place I love and where I want to live and where I can work..."

Dylan Thomas, Letter to Margaret Taylor, 11 May 1949

"What's bettingly good about it...?"

A person stands beside a lakeside railing near a white waterside cottage, with a wooded shoreline and calm water in the background. The person wears a patterned light-coloured blouse and blue trousers, while the scene is framed by greenery and an overcast sky.

          Proudly part of CofGâr

Dylan Thomas Boathouse was the last home of Wales's most famous poet, Dylan Thomas, who lived here in Laugharne on the south-west Wales coast with his family for four years until 1953. This “seashaken house on a breakneck of rocks” was a special place for them all - a warm and happy family home. We’re owned and run by Carmarthenshire County Council (CofGâr).

We are a family of five museums based in Carmarthenshire. Together, we represent the Carmarthenshire County Council museums and arts service, and we're excited to welcome you to our wonderful venues.
