Parc Howard Story

The Parc Howard Story gives you the chance to get to know the house and park through the people who made into the heart of the community that it is today.

In the space that once formed the grand entrance hall of the mansion, you’ll find out how a humble cottage became one of the largest houses in Llanelli, before transforming into one of Wales’s first public museums.

Along the staircase up to the first floor are paintings from the families who originally built and owned Parc Howard. They help tell the story of the families, how they came to be in Llanelli, and the contribution they made to the town.

The story finishes on the landing where we find some of the more unusual parts of the museum collection. Parc Howard’s global links are explored through objects from places such as Japan, Egypt, and New Guinea.
