Carmarthenshire Museum and the Bishop's Park are perfect places to enjoy a bite to eat over tea or coffee. You can dine at Stacey’s Kitchen or get a takeaway and find a bench or table in the Park. You will also find plenty of thoughtful, locally inspired gifts and souvenirs in our Museum Gift Shop.

Museum Gift Shop

Our museum gift shop is inspired by the collections and exhibitions you will encounter on your journey through the story of Carmarthenshire.

For instance, folklore, myths, and legends are a powerful theme throughout the museum. Tales from the Mabinogi—a collection of medieval Welsh folktales—run through some of the artworks and craft objects on display. We encourage the telling and retelling of this folklore through the books we sell.

But folklore lives on in other products, too. The luxury toiletries and gifts made from natural ingredients by Myddfai are a fantastic example. Based in the eastern Tywi Valley, Myddfai is a Carmarthenshire success story and a social enterprise inspired by the legendary Physicians of Myddfai and their renowned herbal remedies and treatments. The first physician was said to be named Rhiwallon; he received his knowledge of healing medicine from his mother, a magical woman from Llyn y Fan Fach, near the village of Myddfai.

By purchasing a gift from our Gift Shop, you will be supporting our work to promote these stories and this important part of Carmarthenshire's heritage.

Parc yr Esgob

Parc yr Esgob is managed by a charitable trust, Parc yr Esgob Trust, which has restored and enhanced the park to create a beautiful place to relax and unwind with friends and family.

Of national importance for its history, horticulture, and wildlife, the park features formal gardens, ancient woodland, and a serpentine lake. Benches and picnic tables are situated along the accessible, winding paths, while a large lawn opposite the Museum offers a great spot to spread out a blanket.

The Jenkinson Garden, restored to its vibrant 1830s appearance, offers colour and life throughout the seasons. It provides the perfect backdrop for a takeaway drink or snack from the Coffee Cart opposite the main car park.

Stacey's Kitchen and Coffee Cart

Since August 2022, the local business Cegin Stacey has operated the café at the Parc yr Esgob buildings, serving visitors to the Museum and the Park almost every day.

During lockdown, Stacey Jones established a catering business and applied to launch and manage the café once its construction was complete, with the support of her business partner, Lisa.

Stacey's Kitchen continues to grow, constantly adding new menu items and hosting special themed evenings and events. Their small team strives to provide high-quality service, food, and drink—all locally sourced and produced—with plans to serve produce from the on-site Walled Garden once its restoration is finished.

And, as of summer 2025, Stacey's has added a Coffee Cart to its food and drink offering. The cart is designed to serve Park or Tywi Valley Path users who want to grab a drink on the go. Look out for it opposite the main car park, at the edge of the Jenkinson Garden.
