Eat, Drink, Shop at the Dylan Thomas Boathouse

The Dylan Thomas Boathouse is a beautiful place to come and enjoy a cream tea or light lunch. Using the original kitchen of the house, we bake all our bara brith, scones, and Welsh cakes fresh using local ingredients wherever possible.

Enjoy a drink and a bite to eat either in the cosy old family sitting room or, if you're lucky with the weather, outside on Y Teras looking over to Sir John's Hill and Carmarthen Bay.

Y Gegin Gartref

Our tearoom is called Y Gegin Gartref ('The Boathouse Kitchen') and serves light lunches, drinks, and snacks. Our scones and Welsh cakes always receive great reviews!

Much of our food is homemade in the original kitchen used by Dylan Thomas and his family. We do our best to use locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible and we even offer dog-friendly ice cream as a special treat!
