The top floor of the Boathouse once hosted the family bedrooms. One was Dylan and Caitlin’s bedroom and the other, Aeronwy and Colm’s bedroom, their two youngest children. Llewelyn’s room was downstairs in the Gift Shop.

Wood beamed room with a circular, tabletop glass dome in the centre. A model town is visible through the glass. Display cases, interpretation panels, and pictures decorate the walls.

Today, Dylan and Caitlin’s room is home to exhibitions exploring Dylan’s life and work. Letters and personal items help tell his story, often in his own words.

One of the more unusual objects on display is Dylan’s death mask. Made for the actor Richard Burton, and currently on loan from the Burton Trust, the mask is reported to have been delivered to the Boathouse in a chauffeur-driven limousine. The other object said to have arrived in that same limo was a photograph of a young Dylan. It remains the only object in any CofGâr museum to have been to outer space.

Since 2025, the Boathouse has also been a licensed wedding venue, with this room one of several spaces onsite available for ceremonies. The property offers a unique place for couples to begin the next chapter of their own stories together.
